I guess I was a little confused at first about this topic, well, I still am confused a bit.

I might as well start with one of my lame stories - I usually do a lot of things in my room. Pretty much everything from my room, from my homework, to guitar practice, to computer, to sleeping, well, you get it. Whenever my mom comes home, she either greets me by going to my room if I didn’t notice, or I go greet her. She comes in and out of my room, a lot. And, often, she leaves the door open. I tend to get slightly annoyed and get up to close it.

Well, I guess while I was reading the suggested bible verses, it kind of reminded me of that door in my room. How I really preferred closing it instead of opening it.

After thinking of the door, it made me think of what I would always do before I became a Christian - close the door, of both my heart and my mind. I guess since I’ve been on this road as a Christian, I’ve tried to stop caring at some point toward certain people. Or, at least, not care in the least at all. I figured throwing away love would make life hurt less.

That really is impossible. I guess what I’m saying is that we were meant to love, from the very start. We were meant to feel. We can try to hide our emotions, but, in the end, it might as well be just useless.

God blessed us with these feelings. Not just for people, but for Him. To grow closer to Him. To develop a relationship. Is that what reconciliation with the Lord means? To be… daring, and give it all to God? To try to follow Jesus’ example, to love unconditionally? God really is love itself, and to have that is truly a blessing. And I’m so thankful that anyone would love me so much, to have His only son die on the cross. For us.

I guess that means showing our whole selves, also. Not just the good, because that’s not what a true relationship holds. A true relationship knows both the good and the bad, and the person on both sides should still love each other despite… whatever happened. And, truthfully, people to a certain capacity cannot fully accept everyone – only God can. And the best we can do is try to follow His example. We’re not perfect, but we have the ability to let emotions run wild, creating relationships.

I guess a lot of people might take love for granted - even though we have a lot, it still is one of the most precious treasures, given by God.
